Our Vision for Highlanders
Highland is:
a church of committed followers of Jesus Christ who worship His name through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, who hear from His Word through expositional preaching and who love one another through service, encouragement, and discipleship.
Worship on Sundays
We desire to truly worship God in spirit and truth through song and the preaching of Scripture. We believe the gathering of the church body for worship and fellowship is indispensable to the successful Christian life. We hope you join us for one of our Sunday worship services at 9:00am and 10:45am. Each service lasts around an hour and 10 minutes and will consist of worship through prayerfully considered hymns and contemporary songs and a biblically based sermon.
Thrive on Wednesdays
One way we seek to deepen our faith and knowledge in the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word is through our Wednesday night THRIVE Bible studies. Groups of all ages meet from 6:30-8:00pm for age specific studies. The HIGHLANDKids go through the AWANA curriculum through 6th grade. The HIGHLANDStudents have their own study, time of worship and fellowship for 7th-12th grade. The HIGHLANDAdults do a joint study during the Fall and Spring seasons, but split for specific Men's and Women's studies in the Summer.
Connect in Community
We desire to foster a family-like atmosphere for all who come to Highland. One of the ways in which we seek to do this is by meeting in homes around the city in small groups on the third Sunday of the month. These Connect Homes seek to develop life-on-life discipleship by meeting with one another around the dinner table. Each Connect Home is led by a member of the Elder Board who oversees and attends the group. You can expect to enjoy a potluck meal, pray together and participate in communion at every home. If you would like a list of the different homes, the times at which they meet and the elder in charge please contact the church office.
Highland exists to:
communicate the life-changing message of the Lord Jesus Christ by equipping the saints for the work of ministry through the preaching of God's Word and the empowering of the Holy Spirit.
We seek to accomplish this mission through corporate worship of God on Sundays, connecting with the body of Christ through intentional discipleship and thriving in our knowledge of Him as we seek to live out His commands.
