YOU'RE NEVER TOO LOST TO BE FOUND PT. 1

Today at Highland Baptist Church, Pastor Danny Gardner's sermon was from Luke 15:1-10. The parables of the lost sheep and the lost coin. The Pharisees complained that Jesus received and welcomed sinners. Their complaints were meant as a reproach but it is good news for those of us who are sinners. In both of these parables Jesus uses people at the bottom of the social ladder, shepherds and women, to illustrate his point. This is because he values them as much as anyone else. Jesus does not leave the 99 sheep alone while he searches for the one lost sheep. The 99 are being cared for by "under shepherds" ,pastors and Church leaders. The poor woman searches for her lost coin because it is so valuable to her. When the lost sheep and the lost coin are found there is rejoicing and celebration. The same thing happens in heaven when a lost sinner repents and is no longer lost. It is indeed good news that Jesus welcomes sinners. We are never so lost that he can't find us. Come to Jesus and live.
