Today at Highland Baptist Church, Pastor Danny Gardner's sermon was from Revelation chapter 5. In this passage a sealed scroll, containing the deed to all creation, is being held by the one seated on the throne.
This deed was handed over to Satan when sin entered the world giving us the choice to rebel against God's word. Because Jesus died for our sins, he is the only one worthy to open the scroll. When Jesus does open the scroll, he will retake all power over creation, including the power Satan currently wields. Because Christ has complete power, Satan can never defeat God.
When Jesus takes the scroll, the four living creatures, the twenty-four elders, and multitudes of angels begin singing in worship of the savior. We were created to worship God. Even with all the despair in the world, as bleak as everything looks, keep your focus on the goal of heaven so that all you do is in worship of God.
